Future

One choice that made that affected my future was probably when I was convinced to go to church. We all know how are parents could be , they can be really religious. But Emerson once said that if he is seen as a Devils child , he will be one. He doesn't like to be told what to be society. Just cause you don't go to church doesn't that you're a bad person. People can believe in what they want. You can still be happy with God or without. In " The sound of thunder" Eckel is convinced not to destroy anything from the past cause it will destroy the future . He can cause many problems. It's similar to not going to church , people believe you're a bad person and will cause problems. They can say that you're going to be a problem in the future if you don't do this or that. But in opinion you can do whatever makes you happy.

My mad dream of an essay

Remember that time you ate that spicy [taco] just before you went to bed on the night before the big [essay test]?  Oh, that weird dream you had about the 2016 presidential election.  When you woke up you couldn't quite remember the [important] details, but after reading "On Self-Reliance" and "A Sound of Thunder" it's all coming back to you now.

The dream started badly.  You were in line with your family at a [buffet] waiting to be sent to [get locked up].  Everywhere you looked there were posters of president-elect [Donald Trump ], looking like a crazy [dog] who could eat a whole [chicken].

Suddenly, there was Ralph Waldo Emerson telling you, "[ To be great is to be misunderstood ]."  You realized that you have something to contribute to the world so you decided to [give a speech].  But it wasn't easy.  First you had to put on a fancy [suit] and [ability microphone ] and then you had make a [time machine] to go back in time to the [park] so you could convince people to learn about the candidates and the [racism going on].

But right there in the [park] there was a giant [man] and it started [yell] ing at everyone.  People started to [fight back].  You grabbed a [stick] from a nearby [the tree] and yelled [stop and listen].  Everyone stopped and listened, so you kept going.

An Earth Shattering Fart

The story is amazing! The foreshadowing is "wow". It starts off with Eckle wanting to go hunting.  Towards the end all the decision that he had his mind put him insane , he didn't want to hunt. The story is a great example of foreshadowing.

My Emerson

For my project , my group will be doing a poster of Emerson's quotes. His words will be formed as a human figure . If it's good enough, we can probably hang it on the wall.

Emerson for the young buck

Emerson is saying to be yourself , don't be afraid to show who you truly are. He doesn't want you to follow what society wants you to be. It's good to be different. Emerson wants the youth to be geniuses cause they have creative minds. Emerson also that children are better and the elderly.

Team Vocabulary

The presidential debate was aggravating the American people. Donald Trumps supporters are hypnotized by the things he says. He also accused Hilary for being a liar and he would put her in jail if he becomes president. His ideas will transform America to chaos. I think Donald Trump should be suspended from from the debate for not acting professional. The future with trump will be melancholy for the citizens. Meanwhile others are anticipating Hillary Clinton plans will be good for the country.

Letter to mentor

Dear Historian,
I got a big question that I've been thinking lately. Was America really great? Was the past of this nation great , did a lot of good things happen ? Why does Trump think that America was Great. Did we all get along at one point ? I'm just trying to look for an answer or anything that can help me understand.
                      Sincerely, Leo O.

RESPECT MY AUTHORITY

An authority figure could be a priest from church. They can make you feel good and bad. Priest threaten you if you do something bad. "You won't go to heaven" or " You're going to hell" and other stuff cause of your "sins". You can't be your self. You always/have to be a good perfect person. I'm not trying to say that you have to be a bad person. Sometimes you could do something bad and regret it but in church,  it will always be a problem against them.

Presidential Debate

The debate was one of a kind. Both Hillary and Trump sounded like a joke. They both aimed at the each other's problems are taxes and Emails. Trump couldn't back up his argument , he would interrupt Hillary whole she was speaking. It's funny that many people think is fucked with these two running as president.

Literature Analysis Questions #1

1. The book I'm reading is called Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs.  The beginning of the chapter the plot is in New York City. A young teenager named Jacob had a weird experience with his Grandfather stories. His grandfather had a crazy childhood back in the 1940s during world War 2. The story goes when Jacob's grandfather tells him about men following him and trying to kill him . Before  Jacob's grandfather died he told Jacob to visit an island near England.  Jacob soon finds out that his Grandfather's stories were real.
2. The theme is the story is dark, it has a strange feeling when it comes to the stories from the grandfather. Also when he gets killed.
3. Based on the author's tone , he seems to be very creative and descriptive. To describe Ransom Riggs morning routine , he could be drinking his coffee and eating breakfast. He could be on his laptop ,looking for ideas to creative fictional stories with dark history.
4. The author does a good job in the tone, he describes how the character feels. He puts a picture in my mind , knowing how the setting is.  The author also puts me in the point of view of the Jacob , the way he sees things.

Notes

The similar things about the story and stories that are told today  is that they might use the same words, which can understandable.
The difference can be that the the story is older and it's like a tale, it's more of a oral story , coming straight out of a tellers mind.
