Vocabulary #2

1. Faith- complete trust or confidence in someone or something
2. Threshold- a strip of wood, metal, or stone forming the bottom of a doorway and crossed in entering a house or room.
3. Tarry- of, like , covered with tar.
4. Resolve- settle or find a solution.
5. Discern- perceive or recognize something.
6. Martyr- a person who is killed because of their religious or other beliefs.
7. Mirth- amusement, especially as expressed in laughter.
8. Catechism- a summary of the principles of Christian religion in the form of questions and answers, used for the instruction of Christians.
9. Pious- devoutly religious.
10. Frenzy- a state or period of uncontrolled excitement or wild behavior.

YBG questions


1. The purpose of the story was showing that the mind can always be foolish. Your mind can give you an illusion of what happen in your past.
2.  Young Goodman Brown wife Faith does not really fit into her. She is not who Young Goodman Brown thought she would be towards the blog.
3. I think the  pink ribbon represents faith in the story.
4. Everything that that Brown witness was like an illusion. It was a dream.
5. The old man was the devil. In the story the old lady said that Brown was talking to the devil in the woods.
6. The staff represents the story of Adam and Eve, seems similar. The staff plays with Brown's mind.
7. If Brown stayed home , it would be a whole different story. He would still have faith.

Notes


 The similar things about the story and stories that are told today  is that they might use the same words, which can understandable. 
 The difference can be that the the story is older and it's like a tale, it's more of a oral story , coming straight out of a tellers mind.
